Now to the beaches...as we traveled Northwest towards Los Angeles we stopped at several beaches as we cruised along the Pacific Coast Highway Route.
The world famous Laguna Beach was our first stop...not as large as I imagined it would be. The water was quite rough, but it was hot and of course there was a lot of wonderful sand.

Huntington Beach - Surf, sand, and sun!

Now if you are looking for the party beach place, head to Huntington Beach.
This beach is absolutely HUGE - 8 miles long -and both the beach and the city blocks were busy.
We walked to the end of the pier and had lunch at Ruby's - a 50's style diner. Great burgers & shakes!
Speed limit is 70 miles per hour...our speed? 0
10 lanes of traffic, vehicles as far as the eye can see,
and no one is moving...Welcome to Los Angeles.
Our hotel was The Hollywood Celebrity Hotel.
Located just 1 block from Hollywood Blvd, the home
of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre,
Kodak Theatre (home to the Grammy Awards).
The hotel is a converted old apartment building. The room was large and comfortable. They had wired internet access. The rooms and hallways were neat - not something that you would see in a traditional hotel room.

You might have a chance to see
the taping of a tv show.
