Grand Circle Tour

Las Vegas...hard to fathom the money that is spent here, both by the tourists as well as the developers.

There is an almost endless list of things to do in Vegas. We chose to stay 2 full days here, with 2 nights on the strip at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon, and 1 night at South Point Hotel & Casino.

The number of video machines throughout Vegas is staggering...you are never more than a few steps
from a machine to plug your dollars into.

Although I am not much of a gambler,
I did plug in my $5-$10 each day.
This was my big payout...
$36.40 win on a $0.98 bet!

At the end of the 2 days,
I was ahead by about $125.00

Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon may not be the largest hotel on the strip, but its great nightly rates (we paid $90.00 per night) and central strip location was perfect. Located kitty corner from the Bellagio.

The rooms were large and comfortable and included a large screen LCD tv.

The free water fountain show at the Bellagio
can be seen throughout each night with a
different show each time.

South Point Hotel & Casino

A little ways from the strip, South Point is a huge complex that is relatively new, includes a casino, restaurants, 16 movie theatres, kids area and huge pool area.

They offered a free shuttle to Mandalay Bay on the strip, and although we made it there and back, it was not the most efficient service.

We received a great rate of under $100.00 and the room was very nice!

Head to "Old Vegas" on Freemont Street for an evening of concerts, entertainment, and of course the giant overhead video display that spans a city block which features shows at various times throughout the night.

TIP: If you purchase a daily bus pass (around $5.00), you can travel up and down the strip unlimited for 24 hours. The bus also will take you up to Freemont Street. I would recommend getting the bus pass as the strip extends a long way.
